Secluded, marvellous game viewing. An ideal safari experience for all the family.
An authentic safari camp set in a secluded part of the game-rich Seronera Valley in Central Serengeti.
Location: Lemala Ewanjan is tucked into a secluded corner of the Seronera Valley in the central Serengeti, perched on the western slopes of Makoma Hills. Its position at the end of a blind valley means guests enjoy uninterrupted views across the plains - no other vehicles will intrude on the vista as wildlife wanders by. This area offers superb year-round wildlife visibility, especially big cats, and plays host to the dramatic wildebeest migration from April to June and again from November to January. It's an ideal blend of privacy and prime proximity to the Serengeti's most iconic wildlife.
Rooms: The camp features 12 spacious en-suite tents, including one two-bedroom family tent, accommodating up to four guests. Each tent comes with twin queen beds or a king bed, warm duvets, wooden flooring and cabinets, and 24-hour solar lighting backed by a generator. Bathrooms include flush loos and safari-style showers, with hot water available on request. Outside, each tent has a deck furnished with loungers - perfect for a morning coffee or evening sundowners while scanning the plains from your own private vantage point.
Amenities: The central mess tent serves as a stylish hub, with a separate lounge, bar, and dining areas decorated with leather sofas, rugs, chandeliers, and wooden chests. Guests gather here in the evening by the campfire or under starlit skies for sundowners and safari stories. The camp includes complimentary laundry, free internet in the lounge and bar areas, and device-charging facilities. House drinks - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - are included at meal times.
Activities: Guests can enjoy daily game drives exploring the Seronera region in open 4x4 vehicles, guided by expert staff trained in wildlife tracking. Guided bush walks, bird-watching, private bush breakfasts and sundowners, and candle-lit dinners beneath the vast Serengeti skies are also offered. For an unforgettable aerial perspective, hot-air balloon safaris are available over the plains - usually followed by a bush breakfast on landing. A Lemala Cubs programmes offers curated wildlife and nature activities for younger guests under 12.
Sustainability: Lemala Ewanjan is powered predominantly by solar electricity, with a backup generator for reliability, helping reduce environmental impact in this fragile ecosystem. The tent design, waste-minimising operations, and limited footprint reflect an eco-sensitive approach, while amenities like solar lighting and water usage are carefully managed. The camp's smaller scale encourages thoughtful conservation-aligned tourism, and a portion of revenues supports local community engagement and preservation of the Serengeti for future generations.
