Overlooking the wide-open plains of the Serengeti
Blending seamlessly into the environment, Asanja Moru is perfectly located to explore the National Park.
Location: Asanja Moru sits amongst the rocky islands known as the Moru Kopjes within the Serengeti National Park, about a 40-minute drive from Seronera Airstrip. This iconic area is renowned as one of the migration corridors, where vast herds of wildebeest and zebra sweep across the plains and congregate around Gong Rock and nearby saline Lake Magadi, a flamingo-filled paradise. Resident wildlife - lion, elephant, buffalo and more - roam freely around camp, making each moment truly immersive.
Rooms: The camp offers seven luxurious ensuite tents and one two-bedroom family tent, each beautifully styled around a distinct Maasai ceremony or cultural theme. Configurable as twins or doubles, all tents include private bathrooms with hot showers and offer excellent views across the plains. The family villa comprises two separate bedrooms and bathrooms with a shared living area and outdoor sitting space, ideal for families seeking privacy with connection.
Amenities: Service at Asanja Moru is excellent: everything from nightly turndown service and bed warmers to complimentary laundry adds polish to your stay. There's central dining and bar tent where meals are shared, plus high-quality food prepared by a talented chef. Wi-fi is available in the main area, and the overall feel is one of thoughtful detail in a luxury bush setting. Guest frequently note how quietly comfortable and well-appointed their tents are, even amid wildlife sounds at night.
Activities: Daily game drives are central to the Asanja Moru experience, led by expert guides exploring both migration zones and resident wildlife territory. After the days, you can relax around the campfire under African skies, sharing sightings and stories with attentive staff. For those craving added adventure, the camp also offers fly-camping "under the stars". Night-time audio is audible-roar of lions or rustle of buffalo grazing -in perfect harmony with this incredible setting.
