Our Affordable Fly-In itinerary makes use of FlyNamibia’s exciting safari circuit. Guests pay for a seat on scheduled flights, rather than having to pay for a private charter. Flying between lodges allows travellers to cover a lot of ground in a relatively short time, and this spectacular safari covers Sossusvlei, a marine cruise in Swakopmund, Twyfelfontein World Heritage site, five nights of exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities in two private reserves located on the border of Etosha National Park, and a unique ‘Dream Cruiser’ sleepout in the Onguma Reserve.

After arriving in Windhoek, you'll check into your hotel for your overnight stay and meet with our representatives who will brief you through the safari to come. Your first proper stop is Kwessi Dunes in the NamibRand Nature Reserve. After a stunning flight there, you will have three nights to enjoy walks, the incredible stars as well as a guided trip to Sossusvlei.

Your next flight will take you over the Skeleton Coast to Swakopmund where you will have two nights at the Strand Hotel. Enjoy exploring the town and its attractions the first day before a catamaran cruise on your second day. Following this your third flight is on to Mowani Mountain Camp. An incredible lodge situated in the home to one of the largest concentrations of rock art in Africa. During your two nights you will have the chance to explore some of the San rock art as well as take a desert elephant nature drive.

From here you will take a flight towards the finest wildlife areas in Namibia, Etosha. Staying at Safarihoek Lodge just outside the south-western border of Etosha National Park, you will be able to enjoy guided drives, guided walks, and wildlife viewing at the lodge waterhole. After your two nights, the next flight will take you across Etosha National Park to Onguma Game Reserve on the eastern side where you will have three nights to explore through game drives, walks and a unique sleepout experience. After your last night you will grab the final flight of the trip within Namibia and head back to Windhoek having truly experienced what the country has to offer.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Windhoek

You will be met in the arrivals hall of Windhoek Hosea Kutako Airport by one of our chauffeur drivers who will transfer you into town in an ATI luxury vehicle. After taking some time to shower, relax (and maybe have a quick nap), one of our representatives will meet you at the Weinberg Windhoek around 4pm. If you're landing late in the day, your briefing will be around 8am the following morning. Our representative will offer a thorough briefing of your whole holiday and go through your marked road map, vouchers, and itinerary with you. We're also on hand to book a restaurant for tonight, should we not have already done so.

Days 2 - 4 South to the Desert

Staying at Kwessi Dunes

One of our chauffeur drivers will collect you this morning and transfer you back to the airport in time to connect with your 10h00 flight. Your pilot will escort you to the domestic terminal and through security to your light aircraft. Your flight will be shared with other passengers. Enjoy a beautiful flight over Namibia's central plateau and the Naukluft Mountains, before landing near the NamibRand Natural Reserve close to Sesriem & Sossusvlei. Enjoy three nights at Kwessi Dunes taking part in activities including a guided trip to Sossusvlei, nature drives, guided walks, or quad biking. You may also like to take a unique hot air balloon trip for an additional fee.

Bring your umbrella, it's rainy season. January is mid-summer in Namibia with the possibility of torrential downpours mid afternoon, but with temperatures of 30-35 degrees it tends to be hot and humid.

In March, rainfall starts to decrease and temperatures lower with nights becoming increasingly cool. Although daytime temperatures remain hot reaching up to 30 degrees.

Winter is coming. May has little or no rainfall and the humidity is low, in northern regions around Etosha you'll find fresher, greener landscapes with wildlife gathering around depleting watering holes.

  • If you're looking to tackle the Fish River Canyon Hike this is the best time to visit Namibia.

In June the nights are cold and temperatures can drop below 10 degrees, whilst in the Namib desert it can reach below freezing. There is no chance of rain as the dry season is in full flow.
