About Little Sports Kenya
Little Sports delivers a powerful, holistic model combining sport, education, community development and environmental awareness to uplift children in underserved Kenyan communities. Through regular school-based sports and life-skills sessions, they provide coaching, nutritious meals, clean water and educational support. Over 274,000 children have taken part so far. In addition, our support is focused on their environmental programme - raising awareness about microplastics, removing plastic waste during sessions, and restoring the Kenyan coastline through mangrove planting. By integrating ecological education into sport, Little Sports helps young people become custodians of both their own future and the natural world around them.
How you can get involved
As part of our partnership, Far & Wild donates a portion of every booking to Little Sports Kenya, directly supporting their environmental education initiatives and mangrove restoration along the Kenyan coast. But that’s not all – we also offer our travellers the chance to get involved while exploring Kenya.
When you travel with us, you can choose to visit a Little Sports session to see the programme in action, meet the young participants learning about microplastics and ocean conservation, and even lend a hand with a local mangrove planting project. It’s a meaningful way to connect with the people and places your holiday helps to support.
Our partnership in 2025
Far & Wild will be supporting Little Sports Kenya through the Sport for the Planet initiative - a partnership designed to blend sport, education, and environmental action. The project reaches 2,000 children each week across local schools, using sport as a platform to teach climate awareness, reduce plastic use, and promote coastal restoration.
Our contribution will help deliver four key projects: training 200 Youth Eco-Ambassadors (aged 10–18) to lead environmental education within their communities; planting 500 indigenous trees around schools and sports fields; hosting plastic-free sports days and beach clean-ups to remove over 5,000 bottles from the waste stream; and supporting a Sport for the Planet Festival to celebrate youth leadership and community impact.
In addition, the programme will extend to Kenya’s coast, funding mangrove restoration through the planting of 5,000 seedlings per year and training Youth Ocean Guardians in marine conservation. Together, these initiatives will help create greener schools, cleaner beaches, and a generation of young environmental leaders.
