A modern hotel complex beside historic Kharkhorin with a spa pool, a wood built ger lounge and rooms from simple doubles to a private ger.
Location: Ikh Khorum sits in Kharkhorin soum, Uvurkhangai province, 343 kilometres west of Ulaanbaatar, next to Erdene Zuu Monastery, part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. The hotel stands on the site of Kharkhorin, once capital of the Mongol Empire.
Rooms: The hotel has 72 rooms across three buildings and ten Hunnu Gers. Standard, Deluxe and Luxury doubles and twins are available, alongside a private domed ger with its own bathroom. Buildings B and C, added in a 2023 expansion, hold the newest rooms.
Amenities: A spa centre has an indoor pool, dry and steam saunas, hot and cold jacuzzis and two massage rooms, open from eight in the morning until ten at night. A 24-hour fitness centre, a business centre, free wifi and on-site parking for 70 vehicles are also included.
Activities: Ikh Khorum Restaurant serves Asian, European and Mongolian dishes across two halls and two VIP rooms. The Ikh Ger Lounge, built entirely from wood without a single supporting pillar, has a bar, three styles of karaoke room and space for events. Guests can also book the basketball, volleyball and tennis courts.
Sustainability: The property runs a four-season greenhouse on site, growing vegetables used in the hotel's own kitchens year round, and its restaurant draws on local Mongolian produce alongside its Asian and European menu.
