A peaceful bush retreat with front-row views of wildlife at the waterhole and expert guiding.
Location: Bilimungwe Bush Camp is tucked away in the remote southern reaches of South Luangwa National Park. Surrounded by a shady mahogany grove and overlooking three natural waterholes, the camp offers superb wildlife viewing in a peaceful and authentic setting. It’s open from May to December.
Rooms: There are four thatched chalets, raised on stilts and built to blend seamlessly with their surroundings. Two have twin queen-sized beds, while the others feature king-sized doubles. Each chalet has an open-air en-suite shower and a private deck with views over the waterholes – ideal for quiet wildlife watching from the comfort of your room.
Amenities: The central lounge and dining area is built around a large termite mound beneath a grand mahogany tree, creating a natural focal point for the camp. One of Bilimungwe’s highlights is a hidden breakfast spot with breath taking views over the Luangwa Valley and Chindeni Hills – perfect at sunrise.
Activities: Expertly guided game drives and walking safaris are led by award-winning resident guide Manda Chisanga, whose deep knowledge of the area brings each safari to life with memorable wildlife encounters.
Sustainability: Bilimungwe has been built using natural materials and designed to blend in with the landscape, supporting conservation and community efforts while preserving the area’s wild beauty.
