An intimate camp that prides itself on luxury and exclusivity
Location: Located in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta (along with sister camp Duba Explorer Camp), the Duba Plain Camp has 77,000 acres of private reserve. The camp is only accessible by scheduled air transfers or private air charters. Once guests have landed at the airstrip, they will be met by a camp representative and driven to camp (a short seven-minute drive).
Rooms: The Duba Plain Camp has five bespoke tents with a safari chic interior. The spacious tents are furnished with a lounge area and a stylish en-suite facility consisting of indoor and outdoor showers and luxurious bath. Each tent has its own private veranda and their own plunge pool where they can relax in tranquillity.
Amenities: The shared camp area has a large dining area, library and a comfortable lounge perfect for relaxing in the evening and sharing safari stories with other guests. Guests have the options of dining communally or in the privacy of their tents. The camps have an exclusive chef who cooks and prepares food to an exceptional standard and the camp boasts a large wine cellar.
Activities: Whilst staying at the Duba Plain Camp guests can experience extra exclusivity as game viewing is done in a private vehicle with a guide, private butler and chef. Due to the limited number of guests, it reduces the number of vehicles in the reserve making the viewing undisturbed. As well as seeing the incredible Big Five, the Duba Plains is known for having interesting Kalahari species like Aradwolf and Pangolins. Along with the daily game drive the camp also offers water-based activities dependent on water levels.
Sustainability: Operated by Great Plains Conservation, Duba Plains Camp is committed to responsible tourism and conservation. The camp is powered by solar energy, and sustainable practices include recycling, composting, and eliminating single-use plastics. Duba Plains Camp supports various initiatives such as the Great Plains Earth Academy, which provides conservation education to local communities, and the Solar Mamas project, training women in solar energy to bring sustainable power to remote areas. Additionally, the camp contributes to wildlife protection efforts, including the relocation of rhinos through the Rhinos Without Borders project.
