Macrossan Street is the heart of Port Douglas, packed with boutique shops, cafés, and restaurants, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Four Mile Beach is ideal for swimming, playing in the rock pools on your family holiday or simply soaking up the sun, while the Sunday markets showcase local crafts and fresh produce.

Both Cairns and Port Douglas provide access to incredible natural wonders. Daintree National Park tours from Port Douglas include ancient rainforests and iconic Australian wildlife, while Great Barrier Reef tours from Cairns are perfect for snorkelling and diving among vibrant coral and marine life.

Best time to visit Cairns and Port Douglas

The dry season, May to October, is the best time, with warm, sunny days and low humidity, perfect for reef expeditions and rainforest adventures. The wet season, from November to April, brings tropical rains and fewer visitors but lush scenery.
