Elephant House Stable Cottages, Addo

Location
The Cottages are set in four hectares of expansive lawns, surrounded by big blue skies and the lush Sundays River Valley, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Open spaces and a fully-equipped playground make this a child-friendly option, ideal for families.

6 spacious cottages, (2 family cottages) are stylishly decorated, restored stables, the reed ceilings, rustic floors and walls adding to the tasteful contemporary appointments.

Amenities
Unwind on comfortable verandahs, whilst admiring the tranquillity of the area. A deli and wine shop is on hand, and a pool ensures a place to cool off during summer days. Delicious meals can be enjoyed across the road, at the Elephant House.

Activities
You’re just moments away from discovering Addo Elephant National Park. Guests can join two daily game drives into its famous landscapes with the lodge's trusty field guide. Wander through citrus groves, paddle along the Sundays River, or step into local culture on guided valley or community tours. For families, there’s paddling, pony rides and quad biking, while adventure-seekers can set out hiking, golfing nearby, or even take to the skies with a helicopter trip to the beach.

Sustainability
Elephant National Park is one of the world’s great conservation success stories and embraces one of the highest concentrations of big game in Africa and thus offers some wonderful game viewing opportunities. In addition to the famous elephants of Addo there are also lion, buffalo, black rhino, hyena, jackal and a variety of antelope species. Of the smaller animals the surricates and the flightless dung beetle are of great interest. Over 150 species of birds have been recorded in the area.
