Stu Exploring India

Marketing & Commerical

Hello.... I'm Stu and I've worked in the best industry in the worlds (TRAVEL) since I left university... feels like a long time ago now, and is! Nothing beats travelling, whether it's the first time you've been, or the 50th, there's always something new to discover, sometimes it just takes a bit more effort to find it! I've worked in all types of travel - adventure, active, ski, touring, beach, cruise, tailor-made... the list could go on.

I've always loved to travel, with my first 'big' travelling experience being in Kenya. I stayed in a remote village called Rukanga, between the two Tsavo National Parks for a considerable amount of time. Most my time was spent working with the local community track wildlife, help out at the local school, DIY at the doctors, and assist in a reforestation programme for the area.

I joined Far & Wild at the very beginning, and it's great to see how far we've come during this time. I can't wait for the journey to continue and see how many holidays we can create for our customers.

Commercial, partnerships, and operations. I make sure that Far & Wild can provide holidays to our customers. There's a lot of 'behind the scenes' activity that goes on to make sure we function as a business. I need to make sure our customers are financially protected through maintaining our ATOL bond (working with the Civil Aviation Authority with up to date workings and projections), make sure our partners are paid on time so our customers can enjoy their holidays. I also need to make sure as many people hear about us as possible so that they can enjoy the best holiday of their lives!

  • White water rafting on the Nile in Uganda - One of the most exhilarating thing's I've ever done.
  • Driving along the Icefields parkway in Canada - Just absolutely stunning
  • Watching the sunrise at Machu Picchu - Something I'd happily do everyday
  • Getting up close and personal to some tigers at Ranthambore National Park - It got the heart pumping!

  • When travelling on long flights with my young girls - Plane presents! small gifts for them to unwrap and play with at certain times of the journey
  • A good guide book. There are so many places I wouldn't have known about had it not been for my trusty guide book
  • Get a good camera. Keep the memories of a great holiday refreshed by taking photos to remind yourself of the fantastic time you had
