Day 1: Sat 13th June 2020
Arrive at Nairobi Wilson Airport in time to check in for the SafariLink flight to Ngerende airstrip in the Masai Mara, departing at 10h00.
The flight takes approximately one hour. On arrival at Ngerende you will be greeted by your guides and transferred by road, enjoying a short game drive along the way, to the Mara Training Centre, which will be your home in the in the heart of the African wilderness for the next week.
Once you have had chance to settle in to your accommodation and unpack, Chris and Leanne will give you a short briefing, discuss the plans for the week ahead and give you some inspiration for the upcoming days wildlife photography.
Then, after a hearty lunch, you'll have a bit of downtime to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush all around, or a short siesta, before heading out in to the vastness of the Masai Mara on your first safari game drive!
Day 2 - 7: Sun 14th - Fri 19th June 2020
Six days will be filled with safari game drives in to the Masai Mara, usually early mornings and mid to late afternoons when the light is best for photography. Another reason for heading out in the early morning is when predatory cats such as lions and leopards are most active. Imagine coming across a pride of lions as they patrol their territories or actively hunting... it's moments like these which will give you great opportunities to photograph and fantastic memories to take home with you.
There is a resident pride of lion, plenty of leopard and in the dry season elephants take refuge in the shade of the forests and graze on the branches of the trees on Kileleoni Hill.
Game drives will take place in safari customised Toyota Land Cruisers, accompanied by expert safari guides, as well as Chris and Leanne to provide photographic tips and advice where needed. A maximum of 4 guests per vehicle will ensure each person will have a side seat for photography.
The exclusivity of the Enonkishu, Lemek & Ol Chorro conservancies will deliver incredible wildlife and nature photographic opportunities. It also means you'll be able to experience unique night drives during your week, you may spot some special nocturnal animals, such as honey badgers, porcupines and aardvarks.
Day 8: Sat 20th June 2020
You will have a late departure today, which allows a final morning safari activity and day in the bush, before being transferred back to Ngerenede airstrip in the late afternoon. Say your farewells to the guides and board a light aircraft flight back to Nairobi Wilson airport, where the tour ends.
If you'd like to spend some time in Nairobi before flying home just let us know, we can suggest some activities and hotels (not included in the tour price).
Your Hosts: Chris Taylor and Leanne McColm
Hailing from the beautiful north Norfolk coast, Chris Taylor has been a professional photographer since 2005. His passion for travel and wildlife has taken him around the world on photographic shoots, and he's excited to be returning to Kenya to lead this rather special tour. His film-maker partner Leanne McColm from Samphire Films will also be joining the trip.
Here's a a rather nice testimonial from someone who attended one of Chris' photography workshops.
"Chris has taken my photography to a new level! Within only a handful of hours Chris' expert guidance and clear instruction had me converted me to shoot in Manual, using RAW files and explore the power of Lightroom editing. Added with insightful compositional techniques I learnt during the practical session, I went away more confident in using the advanced features of my DSLR and set on creative-track with my photography.” - Paul Howard
The Location: A Photographer's Paradise
On the edge of the Masai Mara, this award-winning conservancy, once intensively farmed, has witnessed an extraordinary rewilding project and is now home to a high density and variety of wildlife. Open to the greater Mara ecosystem, animals migrate freely between neighbouring conservancies, creating a world class conservation area that is perfect for photography.
You'll be based on the exclusive Enonkishu, Lemek & Ol Chorro conservancies and they promise to deliver incredible wildlife and nature photographic opportunities. It also means you'll be able to experience unique night drives during the week, so you may spot some special nocturnal animals, such as honey badgers, porcupines and aardvarks.

Please note: Should you wish to upgrade your accommodation, there are 6 bandas at the camp, each with its own ensuite bathroom. These are available on a first come first served basis at the additional cost of £279 per person. There is no single supplement, so availability is limited.
