Little Mombo

Within the Moremi Game Reserve, Mombo Island is surrounded by the open floodplains of the Okavango Delta, and the camp itself is largely built in and around the shade of large mangosteen, ebony and fig trees - overlooking a wonderful floodplain teeming with game. As of April 2017, Mombo and Little Mombo Camp are undergoing a rebuild, during this time Mombo Trails Camp will provide a unique, premium experience for our guests.

The three tented guest rooms and connecting walkways are up to two metres off the ground, allowing game to wander freely through the camp, but at the same time ensuring guests' safety. The rooms are comfortably furnished, spacious and well-appointed. Each has en-suite facilities under canvas as well as an additional outdoor shower for those who enjoy a shower under the stars. Each tent has a private veranda to the front and a sala (viewing platform). Mombo Trails Camp offers eight elegantly furnished and spacious guest tents with en-suite facilities are situated under large, shady trees, a variety of the area’s wildlife often within view. There is a main living and dining area as well as the traditional campfire around which Mombo guests, guides and staff can gather to relive the history of one of our longest-running camps.

Morning and afternoon game drives in open vehicles are immense - the sheer numbers and variety of large mammals in this area defy description. From elephant and both species of rhinoceros, to hyena, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, lion, leopard and cheetah. From herds of buffalo to tiny steenbok, they occur in this area in large numbers all year round. Little Mombo combines luxury and exclusivity with arguably the best game viewing in Botswana
