Located in a private reserve on the northern edge of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana, Dinaka Safari Lodge offers guests a truly unique and lesser known desert experience. The reserve, with its desert landscape is one of Southern Africa’s most unique and bio-diverse areas. The main way to access Dinaka is via light aircraft due to the remote location of the camp. This is an amazing experience in its own right, as you will fly over the Delta’s waterways and quite possibly do some aerial game viewing.
Accommodation comprises of seven spacious safari tents, with a choice of twin or double. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, equipped with hot and cold running water. Dinaka is a child-friendly lodge and provides two-bedroom tents with spacious en-suite bathrooms for families. Each tent is raised on a wooden deck, which provides a wonderful view over the lodge’s permanent waterhole. There is wheelchair access in all areas of the lodge. A Sleep Out deck is available to give the guests the opportunity to sleep under the African sky.
Activities at Dinaka are focused on the Kalahari experience. The area is home to a wide range of animals such as lions, giraffes, cheetahs and leopards. There are also some lesser known animals such as the honey badger and the bat-eared fox along with over 200 species of bird. Activities include game drives - there are no more than four guests to a vehicle, so you will be guaranteed a window seat. You can also embark on guided bushwalks or visit a local waterhole, whose numerous hides will enable you to get some fantastic wildlife photos.
